60-second interview with Peter Stevens, Church Warden
What attracted you most about St. Mary with St. Alban Church?
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Who inspired you most to become a Christian?
What are your favourite books of the Old and New Testaments?
Genesis and St. Mark’s Gospel.
What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
It is better to try and not succeed, rather than not to try at all.
With whom would you most like to be locked in a church?
Mary Magdalene...if I would be allowed her?
Do you enjoy music?
Yes very much so, but it must be the right kind of music.
How do you like to spend your time?
Golf, tennis, walking; travel and exploration, theatre, Scottish Country Dancing, and meeting interesting people with whom one can have lively discussions.
What is your favourite book, film or play?
What is your best/worst childhood memory?
Worst was an encounter with a poltergeist: best was growing up exploring the beaches and countryside of post War Jersey.
How do you view the challenge of becoming Churchwarden?
A BIG challenge, but an opportunity to be of real help.
